More than 220 guests from 16 countries arrived for the Triennial Festival. The opening and award ceremony, as well as the 13 one-hour live individual demonstrations by Bulgarian and international masters of watercolor, took place in the Concert Hall of the Boris Georgiev Art Gallery. There were also 7 demonstrations specially sent for the event by world masters of watercolour who could not attend the event in person. The Triennial exhibition featured over 353 works, in 3 sizes, by various artists from 55 countries – juried, invited artists, honorable mention classics and selected participants by a prestigious international jury. In the presence of the Deputy Mayor Mr. Kosta Bazitov, 33 image, cash and object prizes were awarded. In the area around the Black Sea Hotel, a group demonstration was held by 25 artists on the world’s #1 watercolor paper roll, brand “ARSH”, provided by Arista. During the festival, 4 accompanying watercolour exhibitions were opened in some of Varna’s finest galleries. An exhibition of 35 watercolours was organised in front of Papillon Gallery with works from Selma Todorova’s Portrait Masterclass and works from the plain air workshops around the city.
